The genetic sex appeal ( GSA ) is a term for incredible sexual attraction that may develop among the first blood close relatives who first met as adults.
The term was coined in the US in the late 1980s by Barbara Gonyo, founder of Truth Seekers In Adoption, a Chicago-based support group for adopters and their new relatives.

Contributing factors
People tend to choose a partner like himself, known as an assortative marriage. This applies to physical and mental appearance. People usually rate faces that are similar to their own as more interesting, trustworthy, etc. than average. However, Bereczkei (2004) attributes this in part to childhood recording in the elderly of the opposite sex. As for mental characteristics, one study found a correlation of 0.403 between husband and wife IQ, with husbands averaging about 2 points higher IQ. The study also reported a correlation of 0.233 for extraversion and 0.235 for inconsistencies (using Eysenck Personality Inventory). A review of many previous studies found these numbers to be quite common.
Heredity produces substantial physical and mental similarities between close relatives. The common interests and personality traits are usually considered desirable to the couple. Heritability of this quality is a matter of debate but the estimate that IQ is about 80% inherited, and five great personality factors around 50% are inherited. This data is for adults in Western countries.
For the above reasons, genetic sexual attraction is perceived to occur as a consequence of encountering genetic families as adults, usually as a result of adoption. Although this is a rare consequence of the adoption reunion, a large number of adoption reunions in recent years mean that more people are affected. If sexual intercourse is included, it is known as incest.
GSA is rare among people who were brought up together in childhood because of sexual reverse sexual imprinting known as the Westermarck effect, which lowers their sensitivity to then close sexual attraction. It is hypothesized that this effect evolves to prevent inbreeding.
