Conversion therapy
In May 2018, both Maine House of Representatives and Maine Senate issued two bills legally banning conversion therapy on minors. The problem is that the two versions are not the same and are now on the conference committee for work, placing two different versions of the bill (one bill in Maine Senate and one bill at Maine House of Representatives) on the table to sort. outside.
Since the Maine Legislature is now on a budget and veto session shortly before Sine Die, a bill that has fulfilled one minimum house requirement - can now carry over to 2019 sessions and will not end. The conversion therapy bill is now postponed and will return within the conference committee until January 2019, unless "special legislative sessions" are summoned by the Governor of Maine.
