Lost Girls: The Hidden History of Women Who Give Up Children for Adoption in the Decade Before Roe v. Wade is a 2006 book by Ann Fessler describing and telling the experience of women in the United States who gave up babies for adoption between 1950 and Roe v. Wade in 1973.

This book examines the pressures placed on the biological mother by family, adoption agents, and the public at large to give up children for adoption, and the long-term psychological consequences for this event on her. It presents the life stories often made by mothers born in Florence Crittenton Homes.

Finally, this book tells the reunion story between mother and adopted child and discusses the emotional effects of reunion for the mother who gave birth.

In 2007, this book was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
