Ringkasan plot
Fifteen-year-old Lim Freeman is the youngest member to be appointed Honor Society at her school. His hard-working parents, middle-class parents, Dan and Susan Freeman, are very happy that they have one good child because they are trying to control their more rebellious daughter, Alex. During the math class, Matt meets Francesca Howell, the daughter of Dr. & amp; rich; Juliana Howell. Seeing him struggling in mathematics, Matt offers to teach him. Very quickly, Francesca & amp; Matt develops feelings for each other and finally starts to come out. Francesca admits to Matt that she's had sex with someone else, finding it to be a stress reliever because she has to live up to her parents' high expectations. One day after school, Matt barks his best friend, Blair, goes to Francesca's house, and has sex with her. The next day, he confesses to Francesca that she is not ready for such a relationship, and asks to remain good friends.
Not long after that, Francesca realized that she gained weight and struggles to hide it from her parents, especially her mother, who was too critical of her appearance. A few days later, he tells Matt that menstruation is late, walks to the nearest shop, where Matt steals a pregnancy test, which returns positive. Francesca's parents soon realized there was something wrong with her, but thought she was using drugs. His father finally realizes what went wrong when he sees him vomiting one morning. Dr. Howell calls his mother, who is genuinely shocked and angry, but quickly convinces Matt that he loves her. Matt tells Blair, who quickly blames Francesca for her pregnancy and confesses to Matt that she's afraid what's going to break their friendship. Susan calls Dan, who is on a business trip and can not return in time to meet with Howells.
At the meeting, Howells explains that Francesca is 5 months pregnant, so pregnancy can not be stopped. He also explained that their health insurance covers prenatal care up to 80%, leaving the Freemans to pay the rest. More importantly, Dr. Howell explains to Matt that he believes that closed adoption in off-state placements is the only way to provide babies with a solid home and give life to both Matt and Francesca. Matt seems hesitant to put his son to adoption, but reluctantly agrees when his mother explains that it is the only way to protect his future.
Moments later, Susan received a call from Matt's school principal telling Matt that she and Francesca had been accidentally transferred to a local alternative school for teenage parents, according to school policy. Susan begged the principal not to remove Matt, citing how much she loved school and how annoying it was for her and her academic future. The principal prepares a meeting for Susan and Matt to present their case. All tension becomes high. Dr Howell did not allow Matt to see Francesca, Alex quarreled with her parents who insisted she go to college instead of taking a year off to work, and her parents struggled to help pay for Francesca's prenatal care. Much to the surprise of his mother and his anger, at his school appeal meeting, Matt told the principal that he wanted to move to an alternative school with Francesca. She tried to explain to her mother that she felt obligated to leave and that she would now be able to get a job to help pay the bills.
Matt gets a job at a pizza restaurant, but the tension in the family continues to rise. Matt excelled in his work, though his boss forced him to work more slowly than was legally permitted. Even though he gave all his income to his parents, the bill remained high, so Matt started selling video games to make extra money. Quickly realizing how exhausted she was, Matt's mother demanded that she keep some of her salary for emergencies and allow her to take her to and from work every day. He tells Matt how proud he is because of the way he acted since Francesca got pregnant. Closer to the due date of Francesca, Howells and Freemans meet with a lawyer, who asks Matt and Francesca to sign a letter agreeing to hand over the baby to the adoption agency. The lawyer explains that the child's birth certificate will be reissued only to show her adoptive parents, without mentioning any adoption. Matt, who had struggled with putting his son, reluctantly signed the letter.
One night, when Matt caught her mother searching through her baby book, she admitted that she could not bear to know that she would never see a photo - or even know - her baby. Matt's mother understands and asks Dan if he will consider helping Matt raise his baby. And hesitantly, saying that the family made a decision and they had to stick with it. Meanwhile, Susan and Dan fix the relationship with Alex and apologize for making her feel like a loser because her dreams and goals are different from the plans intended for her.
In mid-June, Dr. Howell calls the Freemans to tell them that Francesca is about to give birth. And warns Susan not to go with Matt to the hospital because they're both too attached to her baby, but Susan and Matt keep going. At the hospital, Dr. Howell explained, rather rudely, that Francesca gave birth to a baby girl and did not want to hold the baby. She tells them that the baby is in the nursery, and will remain there until she is given to her adoptive parents. Susan and Matt go to the nursery to see her, and Matt immediately falls in love with her baby. Dr. Howell was furious to see Matt carrying the baby, because Matt had technically resigned from his custody. Susan told Dr. Howell that Matt has the right to see her baby and remind her that adoption will not be final for six months.
Back home, Alex convinces his father to go with him to the hospital to see the baby. With the family together in the nursery, Matt begs his parents to let him take care of his daughter, and the two agree without hesitation. Matt returns to the lawyer and gets his foster rights refunded. She named her new daughter Genevieve and took her home, where she received a warm welcome from Susan, Dan, Alex, and Blaire.
