Naomi Elaine Campbell (born May 22, 1970) is an English model, actress, and singer. Recruited at the age of 15, he established himself among the most recognizable models of interest in the late 1980s and 1990s, and is one of six models of his generation declared supermodel by the fashion industry.
In addition to his modeling career, Campbell has started other ventures, which include studio album R & amp; B-pop and several acting appearances in movies and television, such as the reality show of The Face and its international branch. Campbell's first public appearance came at the age of seven, in 1978, when he was featured in the music video for Bob Marley's "Is This Love". At the age of 12 he was tap-danced in the music video for Culture Club "I'll Tumble 4 Ya". In 1986, while still a student of the Italian Theater Art Academy Conti, Campbell was fostered by Beth Boldt, head of the Synchro Model Agency, while window-shopping at Covent Garden. 1987-97: International success
Over the next few years, Campbell's career continued to grow: he walked the catwalk to designers like Gianni Versace, Azzedine AlaÃÆ'¯a and Isaac Mizrahi, and posed for photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber. In the late 1980s, Campbell, along with Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, formed a trio known as "Trinity", which became the most recognizable and desirable model of their generation.
When confronted with racial discrimination, Campbell received support from his white friends; he then quotes Turlington and Evangelista when telling Dolce & amp; Gabbana, "If you do not use Naomi, you do not get us." In August 1988, he became the first black model to appear on the cover of France Vogue , after his friend and mentor, designer Yves St. Laurent, threatened to withdraw his ads from magazines if he continued to refuse to place a black model on the cover. The following year, he appeared on the cover of American Vogue, marking the first time a black model adorned the September magazine, which is traditionally the biggest and most important edition of the year.
In January 1990, Campbell, which was declared "megamodel ruling on them all" by Interviews, appeared with Turlington, Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Tatjana Patitz on the cover of British magazine Vogue , shot by Peter Lindbergh. Attack case
Campbell has been convicted of four attacks, after he was accused of 11 acts of violence against employees, associates and others between 1998 and 2009. During the first case, heard in February 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty in Toronto to attack his personal assistant with a cell phone on in September 1998. Campbell paid his former employee an undisclosed amount and agreed to attend the anger management class; his note was removed in return for his regrets. In 2006, eight employees and other partners have filed abuse claims. During this time, Campbell was photographed wearing a Chip and Pepper T-shirt that read "Naomi Hit Me... and I Loved It".
In January 2007, Campbell pleaded guilty in New York to attacking his former housekeeper, who accused Campbell of throwing a BlackBerry personal organizer at him in March 2006. Campbell was sentenced to pay for his former employee's medical expenses, attend anger management program, and conduct a five-day ministry community with the sanitation department of New York. She attends her community service wearing designer clothes, including fedoras, feathers and - after finishing her sentence - a Dolce & amp; $ 300.000 Embossed Silver Gabbana Dress. Blood diamond scandal
In August 2010, Campbell made a highly publicized appearance in a war crimes tribunal against former Liberian president Charles Taylor at the Special Court for Sierra Leone in Leidschendam. He was summoned to provide evidence on the "blood diamond" he allegedly received from Taylor during the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund function in 1997. Campbell initially refused to testify, and - after being summoned - told the court that there was "great discomfort" for him. He testified that he was given a "dirty-looking rock" late at night by two unknown men, and stated that he did not know the diamond came from Taylor until it was notified that the next morning by a fellow practitioner, actress Mia Farrow. However, his account was disputed by testimony from Farrow, his former agent Carole White and former Director of the Children's Fund Jeremy Ratcliffe.

Campbell, who has never met his biological father, considers record producers Quincy Jones and Chris Blackwell as adopted father figures. Former South African president Nelson Mandela calls Campbell "a grandchild of honor". He first met Mandela in November 1994, after his party, the African National Congress, invited him to travel to South Africa to meet with their leader. He has previously donated the proceeds from a shoot in Tanzania to the ANC. Over the years, Campbell has provided support to many of Mandela's political campaigns and causes of humanity.
In 1993, he was engaged to U2 bassist Adam Clayton. They met in February of that year, after Clayton, when asked in an interview if there was something in the world he wanted but nothing, replied: "Dating with Naomi Campbell". Campbell and Clayton split up the following year. In 1998, he was engaged to Formula One racing head Flavio Briatore; they were involved in an on-again-off-again relationship until their separation in 2003. Campbell now regards Briatore as his "mentor".
In July 2017, various sources reported that Campbell is now in contact with Egyptian multimillionaire, Louis C. Camilleri.
Drug and rehabilitation addiction
In 1999, Campbell entered rehab after cocaine drug addiction and alcohol addiction for five years. From his choice, in 1994, for the first time using drugs, Campbell said in 2005, "I am having fun, I live my life around the world and make people give you anything. [But] a small light in your face goes.... This is a very bad remedy. "
In 2002, Campbell successfully claimed a breach of confidence in the Daily Mirror , after the newspaper published his drug addiction report, including a photo of him leaving the Narcotics Anonymous meeting. The High Court ordered Ã, Â £ 3,500 in damages from Mirror Daily . Later that year the decision was overturned by the Court of Appeals, which ordered Campbell to pay the legal fees of Ã, Â £ 350,000 newspapers, but in 2004 the House of Lords returned the Court of Appeal ruling and damages.
