China is experiencing rapid economic development. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, urban China is undergoing a remarkable transformation into a modern society. However, rural China, with a population of nearly 1 billion, lives in poverty and access to primary health care is limited. Health care is limited by financial, geographic, and lack of service providers. While the limitations of the health care system are experienced by many, children may be the most vulnerable and in danger. As a result, many parents are unable to be forced to leave their children in the hope that the State-run Social Welfare System will take them into his arms and provide adequate medical care. Morning Sun Center of Hope began to address these issues.
China has a significant orphan population, and although the number of orphans is not officially published, according to UNAID 2004 estimates, China has 20.8 million orphans. The orphanage has a disproportionately disproportionate proportion of children with disabilities. Vitamin deficiencies, such as folic acid, cause a higher than average rate of neural tube defects. With rural incomes averaging less than $ 1,200 a year, the cost of obtaining health care places enormous financial burdens on the family. Therefore, parents are sometimes forced to leave children in the hope that the state-run orphanage will support them and provide adequate health care. Although there are 60,000 domestic and international adoptions each year, this represents only 0.75% of institutionalized orphans. Despite the best efforts of the Chinese government to deal with this issue, there is still a large orphan population that is not served.

Founder
Bart and Deirdre Daniel came from the United States to China in 2003, where Bart worked for several years as CFO of the United Family Hospital, a chain of health care facilities serving foreign nationals. To address the situation facing millions of babies and children, Bart left his extensive career in the health care industry, and the Sun Morning Hope Center was established to support these challenges in China.
Origin name
The name Morning Sun Center for Hope comes from Chairman Mao Zedong talking about the opportunities that exist in children. He says,
"The world is yours, just like us, but in the last analysis it's yours. You young people, full of vigor and vitality, are in bloom, like the sun at eight or nine in the morning our hope is placed on you we have to help all the young people to understand that we are still a very poor country, that we can not change this situation radically in a short time, and that only through the united efforts of our young generation and everyone, working with their own hands can make China to be strong and prosperous within a few decades. The establishment of our socialist system has opened the way to the future ideal society, but to translate this ideal into reality requires hard work "
This expectation recognizes that hard work is needed to move society forward, and MSCH has placed that hope on the children and community it serves.
