Egyptian Maus is a small to medium-sized cat. Together with Bahrain's Dilmun cat, they are one of the few breeds of pet cats that look natural. The spots of Mau occur only at the ends of the coat's coat. This is considered a rare type.

Conformation and characteristics of the breed

The breed's conformation is described as "the balance between cohesiveness and the sleek elegance of a Siam." His long, muscular body, with hind legs longer than the front, gives the appearance of standing on tiptoe when upright. "The Egyptian Mau is the fastest domestic cat with longer hind legs , and unique skin folds extending from the pelvis to the back of the knee, providing greater agility and step length. Maus has traveled over 48 km/h (30 mph).

Maus often has a very musical sound. They are known to chirp, babble, and emit other unusual vocalizations when stimulated. Another behavior, quite common in Maus's happiness, has been described as "wobble-tail." Cats, whether female or male, wiggle and move their tail, and seem to mark the area, also known as spraying, but during this behavior Want not to release urine. Facial expressions may change with mood, and eye color may change from green to turquoise.

Origins

Despite claiming that the breed originated in Egypt, DNA analysis shows the origin of Europe and North America. However, historical evidence shows that Mau became a descendant of Egypt. Cat genomes data published in Pentascope documents show Egyptians Mau is very closely related to Maine Coon, Korat, and Angoras Turkish States (ndf native to Turkey Angoras). The phylogenetic tree published in PlosOne shows that Egypt wants to belong to the descendant of the Western descendants. The Mediterranean/Eastern Anatolian groups were eliminated because the breeds that were supposed to be from the geographic area did not do so.

The Wants achieved championship status in several organizations in 1968. There was an attempt by British breeders to create Maus from a cross between the Abyssinians, Siamese and tabbies, however, this did not resemble the real Maus. This mixture became the basis for Ocicat.

Egyptian mauss will have a 'scarab beetle' or 'M' sign on their foreheads. Those with the latter tend to be from the United States.

Physical attributes

Egyptian Maus are usually lean and muscular and they are regarded as one of the ancestors of modern domestic cat ancestors. They have differences in anatomy, metabolism, and behavior from other breeds of cats that can be considered as evidence of beauty or at least the uniqueness of other cat races. Some of the anatomical differences are their legs, which are slightly shorter on the front than in the back. They also have skin folds beneath the stomach, similar to cheetahs, which help walk by allowing the legs to stretch back farther. Also one of the most recognizable "traits" of this particular animal is the long, dark dorsal line that extends from its head to the tail along its spine.

The Mau is known for having what is considered a loyal and friendly personality.

Maus are more sensitive to temperature than most breeds - they like very warm temperatures. They are more sensitive to drugs and anesthesia. Maus is suspected of having a very long gestation period, about 73 days. The maximum normal period for cats is 65-67 days, although Siam can take a day or two longer.

Rarity

Egyptian maus is a relatively rare species. In 2007, fewer than 200 kittens were enrolled in the Luxury Cats Governing Council every year. In 2006, a total of 6,742 Mauss were registered with the Cat Fanciers Association. Not all Maus kittens are registered. Maus comes in six colors. From the most up to the most common of these colors are: Caramel, silver, bronze, smoke, black and blue/tin.

Black and lead mauses can not be shown, but can be used in breeding. All Maus must have green eyes, but the yellow cast is acceptable to kittens and young adults up to the age of eighteen months.

Rescue Organization Want Egyptian and Maus exports

The Egyptian Mau Rescue Organization (EMRO) is an agent for adoption, both locally and internationally, to tame Maus born in the Middle East. Supported only by private donors and companies, EMRO aims to improve education in Egypt and around the world about cats.

EMRO cat is not an Egyptian mausoleon; they are an Egyptian and Arab street cat from an unrecorded lineage originating from Mae's landrace origin. The breed registry will not regard these cats and their direct descendants as the Egyptian Maus. Forming a later descendant as a famous Egyptian descendant needs a detailed record to verify the offspring, and the examination of cats to ensure they meet a number of appropriate breed standard conformation requirements to rule out disqualified physical features. For example, the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) will consider the first generation of imported cat to become original Maus; the offspring of their second and third generations (originating from the same imported stock and/or bred for the CFA-pedigreed Egyptian Maus - they should not be spelled out for other breeds) are considered domestic Maus. Finally, fourth-generation cats are eligible to be placed in active registries as official Egyptian specimens who wish to breed, provided they have been fully evaluated and approved by the designated representatives of the Egyptian Mau Breed Council as conformists.
