Robert Daniel Refsnyder (born Kim Jung-tae (???) , March 26, 1991) is the second Korean American professional baseball baseman, the right fielder, and the first baseman at the Tampa organization Bay Rays. She previously played in MLB for New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.
Refsnyder was born in Seoul, South Korea, and was adopted by a couple from Southern California when he was five months old. He became a three-sports star in Laguna Hills High School, and enrolled at the University of Arizona, where he played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats as their right fielder. Winning the 2012 Lecture World Series (CWS) with the Arizona Wildcats baseball team, Refsnyder was named the Most Extraordinary CWS Player.
The Yankees chose Refsnyder in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball 2012 draft. They turned him from a proper fielder into a second baseman, and he became one of their top prospects. He made his MLB debut in 2015, but did not become a regular for the Yankees. He traded into the Blue Jays in 2017, claiming from waivers by the Cleveland Indians during the offseason, then traded to Tampa Bay Rays before the 2018 season.

Amateur career
Refsnyder attended Laguna Hills High School in Laguna Hills, California. He plays baseball, basketball, and American football in Laguna Hills. He plays as wide receiver and outer linebacker for the football team in his first year, and as a quarterback in his senior year. In his senior season, he was named the Division Offensive Officer of the Year for the football team and the most valuable player for the baseball team. The college at the Pacific Conference-10 recruited Refsnyder to play quarterback for their soccer team.
Enrolled at the University of Arizona, Refsnyder played baseball campus for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team at the Pacific Conference-10. In its first year, in the 2010 season, Refsnyder is an All-Pacific-10 Honorable Mention. After the sophomore season, Refsnyder played college summer baseball for Wareham Gatemen from the Cape Cod Baseball League. As a junior during the 2012 Wildcats season, Refsnyder fought.352, led the Wildcats with six home runs, and recorded 63 run batted in (RBIs) and 12 stolen bases. In the first match of 2012 World Series of Lectures (CWS), Refsnyder hit home runs. He was named CWS Most Outstanding Player, when Refsnyder fought 10-for-21 (476) at CWS 2012 and the Wildcats beat South Carolina Gamecocks.

New York Yankees
The New York Yankees composed Refsnyder in the fifth round, with the 187th overall selection, in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Although a proper fielder for Arizona, the Yankees profiled Refsnyder as the second baseman. Refsnyder signed a contract with the Yankees on July 6, receiving a signing bonus of $ 205,900. He reports to Charleston RiverDogs from Class A South Atlantic League, where he makes his professional debut on July 10th. He fought.241 for Charleston.
The Yankees commissioned Refsnyder to Charleston to start the 2013 season. After posting 0.370 batting average and 0.452 on-base percentage (OBP) in 13 matches, Refsnyder was promoted to the Tampa Yankees of the A-Advanced Florida State League on April 19. He fought.283 in 117 matches for Tampa, hitting six home runs and recording 51 RBIs. Between the two levels, it has 0.408 OBP and 0.404 percentage of slugging.
Refsnyder started the 2014 season with Trenton Thunder of the AA Eastern League Class. With the help of Marcus Thames, the coach hitting the Thunder, Refsnyder made changes to his swing which reduced unnecessary movement, resulting in an increase in power output. He won the East League Player of the Week Award for the week of May 26 - June 1. After batting.342 with six home runs in 60 games for Trenton, including an average of 0.430 in his last 28 games, while also improving his defense on the second base, the Yankees promoted Refsnyder to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders from the AAA International League on June 10.
After batting.371 with three home runs in his first 19 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman described the progress of Refsnyder as "very impressive," adding that "he forces us to pay attention." Cashman has Refsnyder playing off the pitch to prepare for promotion possibilities into the premier league. Refsnyder finished the season with an average of 0.300, eight home runs, and 33 RBI in 77 games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The Yankees gave Refsnyder a chance to compete for a place with the premier league team in 2015, but assigned him to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start the season so he could continue working for his defense. After he fought.290 with seven home runs, 17 doubles, and 37 RBI in 81 games, the Yankees promoted Refsnyder to the premier league on 11 July. With his call, Refsnyder became the fourth-placed player in MLB history to be born in South Korea, following Hee-seop Choi, Shin-Soo Choo, and Jung-ho Kang. He made his major league debut on July 11, and recorded his first two hits, including a two run home run, on 12 July. After playing four games, in which he fought 2-for-13 (.167), the Yankees chose Refsnyder to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to activate Carlos Beltrón from the disabled list. He fought.25 in the second half of the RailRiders season.
The Yankees promoted Refsnyder to New York on September 1 as part of their September call. Refsnyder was rarely played, with the Yankees initially using JosÃÆ'à © Pirela, until the end of September, when he began receiving more regular playing time. He ended the regular season with.302 on average, and started for the Yankees in the American League Wild Card Game 2015, which they lost.
The Yankees began playing Refsnyder as the third baseman during the spring training of 2016. The team selected him for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 27 March. He divides his playing time in third base, second base, and right field before the Yankees promote him. to the premier league on 17 May. After injury to first baseman Mark Teixeira and Dustin Ackley, the Yankees started playing Refsnyder in first base. He fought off 0.262 in 122 on the bat before he returned to RailRiders on 11 August. He was promoted again to the major league as a September call.
After competing for a role on the Yankees Opening Day list for the 2017 season, the Yankees picked Refsnyder to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the start of the season. He was appointed to duty on July 19, 2017. Through July 19, Refsnyder had an average of 0.135 batting at 37 on the bat for the Yankees and the average 0.312 batting in 38 games for RailRiders.
Toronto Blue Jays
On July 23, 2017, Yankee sold Refsnyder to Toronto Blue Jays for Ryan McBroom. Blue Jays commissioned Refsnyder to the Buffalo Bisons of the International League, and promoted it to the premier league on 29 July, when Troy Tulowitzki was placed on the disabled list. He made his debut with the Blue Jays that day, pinching in the ninth inning of a 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Refsnyder fought.196 in 32 games for Toronto. Tampa Bay Rays
